Sue Albrecht Johnson received a bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University and a master's degree from Kent State University. She was a mathematics teacher for 25 years in the Cleveland, Ohio area. As an avid puzzle solver and developer, Sue incorporated many types of puzzles into her daily classroom activities. Sue received Teacher of the Year awards from both the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Besides presenting several workshops in the United States, she has shared her knowledge of teaching mathematics with educators in Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Australia.
Sue has used her mathematics skills in a variety of ways. For the sport of Synchronized Swimming, she has been in charge of the scoring for the Summer Olympics in 1984, 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008 as well as several World Championships and Pan American Games. She has served as the U.S. National Scoring Chair. In addition, Sue is in charge of the scoring for the US Open Golf Championships each year, as well as several other PGA Tour Events.
Music has always been another love of Sue's. Besides singing in her church choir and university choir, Sue sang with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus for 18 years under the direction of Robert Page.
Sue currently resides with her husband, Harry, in Manhattan Beach, California.
