Elliot Deutsch is an active composer, arranger, and big band leader in Los Angeles, CA. His band, aptly called Elliot Deutsch Big Band, has become a staple of the Los Angeles jazz scene, performing frequent engagements at The Blue Whale, Vitello’s, and Catalina’s. In 2014, following a successful KickStarter campaign, he recorded his second album at the legendary Capitol Studios. The record, The Push!, has received universal acclaim.

Elliot Deutsch earned a BA in Jazz Studies from UCLA, and an MM from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach. He has since written over 100 arrangements and compositions for many artists including Bill Watrous, Jane Monheit, Flea, Cheryl Bentyne, Laura Dickinson, Bobby Rodriguez, and many others. In addition, Deutsch has written commissions for USC, Cal Arts, CSULB, Cal Poly Pomona, Caltech, and many high school and middle school jazz bands. Elliot Deutsch earned 1st place in the 2012 ASMAC Big Band Arranging and Composing Competition for his arrangement of “Pure Imagination.” He also won the 2013 ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award.

Elliot Deutsch Big Band has backed up many notable Richards, Cheryl Bentyne, Janis Siegel, and Patrick Williams.
